A Victorian Experience: North End Tours
North Street
King's Lynn. PE30 1QW
Join us on an immersive guided tour of the North End of King’s Lynn and discover the long lost world of the Northenders!
This adventure of discovery will include a walk around the streets of the area of this once bustling community of King’s Lynn’s fisherfolk, with our knowledgeable tour guides pointing out local history spots and tales of local characters and events from first hand accounts. The walk includes a stroll through the leafy grounds of St. Nicholas’ Chapel, the largest parochial chapel in England and also the religious focus of the north end community. You can then step inside True’s Yard’s cottages to experience how working class people lived in the 19th century, and also visit the last remaining smoke house, to learn about its rediscovery and renovation, and the importance of the fishing industry to the area.
Every Wednesday and Friday 1pm; June, July and August. Meet at True’s Yard.
Tour and Tea: £5 per person, to be paid on arrival.
